Do you have time to pray?

2 Chronicles 7:14
New International Version (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
What a powerful scripture this is. God is telling Solomon three things here, and we can read the scripture as if it was written directly to us.

First we have to humble ourselves. We have to come to the realization that we can't do things on our own. Then we must realize that we have a Savior that hears our prayers, and answers them. We must have the activator that gets it all started, called faith. If we could set ourselves aside for a moment (humble ourselves), then God could have room to work in our lives.

The second request that God made was for us to pray and seek His face. When we have come to the point that we know we can't make it without a personal  relationship with Christ, then we can continually seek His face through prayer. Imagine the changes God could make in your life for the better, if you just let Him. It's funny how a relationship works- the more you get to know a person, through communication- the closer you become to that person. When will you strive to make God your closest friend?

The last thing God wants us to do is turn from our wicked ways. This is where things get dicey for most of us, because we are all born of a sinful nature. The only way to become more like the Father, is to have a passionate, close relationship with Him. God promises to hear us, forgive us, and heal our land. Isn't this what we all want? Revival can start with one person, but you have to these ingredients for a successful recipe. Lets start today, and make God our priority, not just the person we go to when we are in trouble. Strive to have a better relationship with God each and every day, and then let the love of God pour out to others. It starts with you.

Acts 26:17-18

New International Version (NIV)
17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
