ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Most of us are anticipating another season of high flying, hard hitting, non-stop action, that only football provides.  People plan there weekends around their weekend warriors. We watch, on the edge of our seat, as our heroes make spectacular plays. Little League football, High School football, College football, Nfl football, are the means of our weekly fix of entertainment. We will all jump and yell, as our favorite player crosses the end zone for another score. With passion, we will drop our drink, high five the closest person, and make funny noises that only come out for football season. We love you football, we wish you lasted all year long.  This is the most amazing thing we have ever seen. Don't end football season! please don't end........

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:1-3)

Isaiah 44:6-8
6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared [it]? ye [are] even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, [there is] no God; I know not [any].

Wait just a minute! You mean to tell me , that none of these so-called heroes, gave their life for me? Not one of these guys lived a perfect life, only to be crucified on a tree for it? Have we gone to far, in our love for this awesome sport?  Listen, I am one of those guys, i have missed prayer time at Church; in order to gaze at this sport. I'm not condemning those who watch football, I'm not going to stop watching football, but I will caution you to consider spending more time with God than football. Nothing should ever be a substitute for the love we have for Christ. Some of you will read this, and still miss church, prayer, or your "God time", for this game. In February there will be no more football to watch, at that time, will you have a passionate relationship with God? Or, will you be getting God off the shelf, dusting Him off, and telling Him.......Now it's your turn...I missed you, God?  Listen, no one knows when Christ will come back for us- but will we be about His business, or to busy worried about ours?

And He said unto them, did you not know that I must be about My Fathers business?" Luke 2:49.
